Bar Giora is a moshav in the Judean Mountains, situated between the cities of Yerushalaim and Beit Shemesh. Bar Giora is under the jurisdiction of the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council.
The moshav was founded in 1950 by Moroccan immigrants.
Bar Giora is home to some six hundred fifty residents, some of whom are religious and the others not.
The mikvah in the moshav was built decades ago and is in a dilapidated condition. Merkaz L’Taharat Ha’Mishpacha is renovating the current premises and expanding the existing facility. The renovation will provide a proper solution to the needs of the residents and neighboring localities who use the Bar Giora mikvah.
